SCHOOL VISITS

What is a school visit?

School visits, or “author visits” are opportunities where I am invited or sponsored to read my book at a school. Children get to read a modern day non-fictional story that encourages them to dream and become who they want to be .

Children (and their teachers) get to talk to me about ANYTHING Sachiko Goes Racing related and discuss the lessons learned in the book.

Why children need to read my book.

  • Little boys & girls alike need to be exposed to books about today’s role models that are breaking down barriers in society.

  • There are NO CHILDREN’S BOOKS about race cars with female main characters nor are there any with a main character that is AAPI. This book stands out from the rest, and the kids (and parents) LOVE it.

  • This book shows children they can become whoever they want to.

  • give your home elementary school a special event that their student body will appreciate and LOVE.

The Coloring Contest

When I’m hosted by a school for an author visit, I host a coloring contest for grades 1-3. The children design their own race car with their own signature smoke, just like Sachiko has in the book. Here is a collection of my favorite entries.
